Last week I went to Waterman’s Tavern for dinner, the former Simko’s Grill located at 403 Higgins Avenue in Brielle. I saw a post on Instagram about prime rib night and thought I’d go check it out.
What they offered was truly a bargain. For $26.99, you get a king-cut slice of prime rib, along with a side order, a salad and a dessert. To be honest, I was too full from the meal to try the salad or the dessert, but I still give it five out of five stars.
The best part of the whole experience is how your food is ready almost immediately. Their chef arrives early in the morning to slow-cook the prime rib, so that way it’ll be ready by dinner time. As a result, they just slice off a piece when you order and you’re good to go.
Most restaurants will charge double for the steak alone, so I would definitely go back and absolutely recommend others to do the same. Prime rib night is every Wednesday beginning at 3 PM.
They have a full menu with many choices and a complete bar. Check out their posts on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/watermans_tavern/ and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/watermanstavern/ for all the specials and entertainment. Dueling Pianos performs there on the 1st and 3rd Thursday every month, just know reservations are required. That’ll be one of my next trips to Waterman’s Tavern.
