Are you looking for an activity to do with the family that involves the beach and helping the environment? As residents of the Jersey Shore, we can help clean the beaches on April 13th during the Annual “Spring Beach Sweeps” organized by Clean Ocean Action.
They are held all over New Jersey, with over 60 locations across 7 counties along NJ’s coastline and inland waterways.
This is the 34th year that residents have come together and pitch in to rid our beaches of unsightly debris and garbage. It has grown from 75 volunteers in the first year to over 5,000 volunteers last year!
Since 1985, 133,390 volunteers have participated and removed 6,742,941 pieces of debris from New Jersey’s beaches and waterways.
All ages are encouraged to participate. To learn more about this event and how to register, please click here: http://cleanoceanaction.org/
