I hope that this finds you and your loved ones well, healthy, safe and always hopeful. It is hard to believe that we are experiencing such unsettling times. We will get through this together. I am proud and so grateful to represent an organization that serves our special Jersey Shore community and to be a vehicle to help those to who wish to give and to volunteer. As we move forward through this year, with some uncertainty ahead, it is our goal to pivot and create new opportunities for supporters to give and connect, as we wish to engage in new and additional ways other than the typical team builds that we are accustomed to hosting.
We look forward to safely resuming our work building together and assisting our homeowners with necessary repairs that they need as we advance through the year, however for now there are still many ways to engage with Coastal Habitat for Humanity safely, effectively and in a way that makes everyone feel comfortable.  If you are interested in crafting a volunteer experience please reach out to me. I am encouraging those working from home, youth and anyone who would like to give back to get creative, to collaborate and design experiences to feel connected, safe and giving.
There are many ways that you can join us. Please consider an at-home scavenger hunt to collect items to be donated to our ReStore, plan a virtual run or walk as a way to encourage exercise and perhaps fundraising. Think forward and plan a food or a toy drive, as there is still a need for food in our local community and the holidays may be difficult for so many families. For those who are interested in volunteering on-site, in a small group or as an individual, let’s discuss this too. I am happy to join a Zoom meeting or conference call to speak interactively with you or a team to create an experience that will have impact.
And last but not least, spread the word! Please share our mission and ideas with others. We are our best when we are giving and through difficult times, this is personally and professionally so rewarding. Let’s remember that this is for now, not forever and we will always stand together.
Coastal Habitat for Humanity looks forward to continuing our mission of making sure that everyone has a safe and affordable place to live and take pride in and to making the world a better place.  Please stay safe, be kind to yourself and always believe in the good in the world!
