Trinity Wellness Emporium encourages students to be joyful. “I teach from the heart with love and compassion, and people respond to that,” noted O’Connell, who began taking yoga classes after sustaining an injury. The self-described “fitness fanatic” and long-distance runner discovered how peaceful she felt during yoga classes and decided to become a teacher, eventually opening Trinity Wellness Emporium. As a teacher, O’Connell can bring healing to people and help prepare them for the challenges of life, both on and off the yoga mat. “I seek to strengthen people physically to help prepare them for everything else that life throws at them,” noted O’Connell. She describes the studio environment as “very comfortable, very open, and a totally judgement-free zone with focus on the positive.” O’Connell wants people to be mindful of the body, but most importantly, to celebrate what the body can do. “We sometimes forget to just enjoy our time, to be in the moment, and to understand that we are enough just the way we are,” she said.
