The historic Asbury Park Boardwalk is honored to help celebrate the sold-out New Jersey Hall Of Fame 11th Annual Red Carpet Induction Ceremony Gala on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at the iconic Paramount Theatre. The ceremony will honor some of the Garden State’s best and brightest names including restauranteur, entrepreneur, philanthropist and lifelong musician Tim McLoone, TV personality Martha Stewart, actor Jason Alexander, musician Southside Johnny Lyon and more.

McLoone, who has been a prominent figure in the Asbury Park community since 2008, can best be described as a modern-day Renaissance man. Schooled at Harvard and accomplished in music, athletics, and business, Tim yearned to make a positive difference in the lives of those in need. Tim’s love of music was a driving force behind the creation of Holiday Express, a non-profit organization that works year-round to deliver music, food, gifts, and human kindness to adults and children in need. 2019 marks the organization’s 27thseason, and they will hold 100 events from November until December 24thfor those in need and often forgotten. The Holiday Express team includes 2,500 volunteers, including 150 professional rock, jazz, folk, gospel, and pop musicians.

McLoone was named to the USA All-American Track team while competing at Harvard and he parlayed his interest in athletics and entertaining into a career as a sports announcer. He has done broadcast work for the U.S. Olympic Trials and was part of the Emmy Award-winning broadcast team for the New York and Los Angeles Marathons. In fact, Tim put his track and field background to use when covering the New York Marathon, jogging alongside the runners as he reported on the event. Off-camera, Tim directed the U.S. Men’s Olympic Trials in 1998 and served as musical director of the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony for NBC from 1998-2000. Additionally, he serves as Director of Game Operations and Arena Announcer at The Prudential Center for Seton Hall Men’s basketball and held the same position for the New Jersey Nets of the NBA. He is also the Cross Country coach for Rumson-Fair Haven High School.

When not touring with Holiday Express and engaging in television and sports projects, Tim can be found on many weekends performing with his band Tim McLoone and the Shirleys. As if he didn’t have enough on his plate, Tim owns twelve popular New Jersey restaurants, including the Asbury Park Boardwalk’s own Tim McLoone’s Supper Club, Robinson’s Ale House and the newest addition, Iron Whale.

As a friendly face, fixture and supporter of the New Jersey community, it is no surprise that Tim McLoone is among 19 of New Jersey’s most distinguished citizens being inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame, the highest civilian honor bestowed by the state. Over 1,500 inductees, special guests, sponsors, and members of the media will be in attendance for one of New Jersey’s premiere evenings.

When asked about how he felt about receiving such a high honor, it was hard for Tim to put it into words. He explains, “My first reaction was, “really? me? why?” But then I understood that it was because of all the people who have helped me along the way and that I was standing on their shoulders.”

Tickets to the induction ceremony gala are sold out, however, the New Jersey Hall of Fame has partnered with NJ.com who will be live streaming the 11th Annual Red Carpet Induction Ceremony beginning at 5:45 pm on Sunday, October 27th, 2019 at www.nj.com. Viewers can catch every moment from the star-studded red carpet and ceremony gala featuring New Jersey celebrities like actor Jason Alexander; musician Southside Johnny Lyon; “Game of Thrones” author George R. R. Martin; businesswoman and TV personality Martha Stewart; and New York Giants’ Harry Carson and Bart Oates.
