On Thursday Evening, May 30, 2019 at 7:30PM, Dan Lieb will offer the presentation, “Mapping the Robert J. Walker,” a shipwreck off Atlantic City that divers have been visiting for years referring to it as the $25 Wreck. No one knew the name of the vessel until an effort was brought forth by NOAA.
This shipwreck mapping was conducted by the New Jersey Historical Divers Association and revealed key evidence that supports the NOAA claim that the $25 Wreck is indeed the remains of the Walker.
The Squan Beach Lifesaving Station Preservation Committee is sponsoring the program, and NJHDA is associated with this group and displays some of its artifacts in the station. Admission price is $10. Light refreshments will be served. Proceeds benefit the Squan Beach Lifesaving Station.
