Holly Club of Sea Girt Produces Coloring Book
“COLOR THE SHORE”
The Holly Club of Sea Girt has produced a unique fundraiser coloring book entitled “Color the Shore.” Featured in the sixty page book, are popular scenes and historical locations of Manasquan, Sea Girt and Spring Lake for kids of all ages to color. Captions in the book provide tidbits of local lore, words of inspiration and fun. The proceeds of the fund raiser will go to further the mission of the club for beautification throughout the community.
“Color the Shore” is the fundraising idea of local resident Victoria Impellizeri, who rose to the clubs challenge to create a new kind of fundraiser other than the traditional luncheon. Mrs. Impellizeri suggested a coloring book of our beautiful community.”
Holly Club members Diane Raver, Lynn Ward, Laurie Provost-Fellini embraced the project and joined Mrs. Impellizeri in the creation of this fun and enjoyable book. They recruited Vincent Dicks, neighbor and author of “Sea Girt The Last Town at the Jersey Shore”, to contribute photos and historical information.
A community volunteer, Paul Impellizeri, Jr., provided his computer expertise to convert photos of local landmarks into images appropriate to color.
The project took five months of collaboration. The final result is a collectible souvenir of happy days spent at three delightful communities of the Jersey Shore.
“Color the Shore” coloring books are available for $10 at locations including:
Ray’s Café ( Saturdays and Sundays 9:30-11:30am)

About Holly Club of Sea Girt– The Holly Club is the garden club of Sea Girt, NJ, organized exclusively for charitable purposes. Besides our love of gardens and flowers, we fund-raise throughout the year to give back to the community. Our project proceeds go directly to efforts to beautify the town, which include: maintaining the landscaping at the Lighthouse, planting and maintaining the beautiful boardwalk planters and providing seasonal decorations throughout town. Other community outreach includes: flower arrangements for the tours at the Lighthouse on Sunday afternoons; scholarships to students who plan to study horticulture or a related field; providing flowers to a local nursing home while assisting patients in making centerpieces for their dining tables; providing speakers to enhance the education of our members to be better stewards of our land, water and air.
