Holiday Express Sunset Benefit Clambake

By Tracey Hall ~

Last night in Long Branch, Holiday Express took to the beachfront and celebrated its 27th year of giving the gift of human kindness.

I had the honor to attend and was so impressed with the entire event. The tents rose high above the boardwalk and inside held beautiful table settings and food stations.

The festivities are a welcome start to the Holiday Express season when the band plays benefit concerts to raise the spirits of those in need in NJ, NY, and PA.  The music is the center of this enterprise and its bandleader, Tim McLoone does not disappoint!

McLoone, a long-time local here at the Jersey Shore is a man who wears many hats. From restaurateur to bandleader, Tim’s good works have made positive impacts to so very many. Holiday Express was created to bring the joy of music, gifts and holiday cheer to those who need it most. After all, “Nobody Ought To be Alone On Christmas!”

That quote is from the #1 song sung by Holiday Express and I must encourage you to get out and hear them perform. The music uplifts and sends the heart soaring. They depend on us to donate, volunteer and spread the word to keep this incredible non-profit venture going.

The mission statement says it all: ” The Holiday Express mission is to deliver food, gifts, financial support and friendship to those with the greatest need for the gift of human kindness during the holiday season and throughout the year.”
