Today is the first day of autumn and it is one of the best times to visit Sandy Hook for its colorfully blazing sunsets.
“Days decrease – and autumn grows, autumn in everything.”
This quote is by Robert Browning (1812-1889), a major English poet of the Victorian age whose love of nature, and his sense of the joy and beauty of it, appears often in his poetry. He utilized nature as a storehouse of images like other poets to illustrate the thinking, the doing, and character of man. His love of color is powerfully surprising as he penned a verbal pictorial emphasizing his love for landscapes – as miniature paintings – and a love for animal life.
We too can experience the pleasures of nature in a Gateway fall season as well by observing the beauty of sunsets along with the changing floral colors of nature – scenic arrays to be enjoyed individually, by family members, or friends!
