Calling All Homeschoolers: Join us for a day of activities and education on Sandy Hook!
Join the American Littoral Society on Thursday, September 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for our Fall Homeschool Family Fun Day. This is a fantastic opportunity for homeschool students aged 5 and up, along with their families, to connect with nature, explore the coastal environment, and engage in hands-on marine science activities. Don’t miss this chance to turn the outdoors into your classroom for a day!
This is a hands-on coastal experience, so dress for the weather and be prepared for some splashing. We’ll even provide waders to keep you comfortable. Spaces are limited for this popular event, so be sure to secure your family’s spot by registering now!
We can’t wait to explore Sandy Hook’s wonders with you.
Homeschool students ages 5 and up will have the opportunity to connect with other families while discovering Sandy Hook’s unique marine environment:
- Seine Fishing – Pull a net and observe local marine life (wader provided)
- Seashell Scavenger Hunt – Hunt for shells and discover the creatures that once lived in them
- Monarch Butterfly Lesson – Learn about the monarch butterflies long migration!
Meet at Lot C on Sandy Hook for the ultimate coastal experience! Check-in begins at 9:45 am.
