August Observations:
- Life feels like one huge transition and I need help. Many of us are desperate to be “done” with this worldwide pandemic and all of its obstacles. This feeling of change is constant and I often lose my footing. What do you do when you feel unsteady? I lean on journaling to reflect, dance music to lighten, exercise to strengthen and most importantly, rest. By rest, I mean to actually lay down and shut my life down. I do it at different points in the day. It could be 5 minutes or 15. Breaks have become a crucial part of my daily routine. As I continue to move through the ups and downs of life, I realize that I may need to lean on these things more often and for longer periods of time and that is ok!
- Can we please live our life through the lens of progress not perfection? I think perfection looks and feels weird. From my perspective, life is supposed to have dimensions and contours and it’s meant to change over time. Last time I checked, perfection looks and feels clinical, programmed and unrelatable. Please compassionately challenge yourself and those you care about, to celebrate the incredible moments of progress.
