I first saw Ocean County resident & local legend, Eric Barney AKA Teddy B, perform in the Hard Rock, AC. This talented singer/songwriter began his crooning career with the Sensational Soul Cruisers twenty years ago although he’s been in the music industry for more than 50 years!
Those locally have enjoyed his many gigs with The Sensational Soul Cruisers here along the boardwalk at Martell’s Tiki Bar. From AC to Philly, his vocals have always been well remembered, well received! You’ll find him on CD Baby, Spotify as well as many digital outlets. Check out the many YouTube videos while you’re at it.
For those of you who are unaware, Teddy B suffered severe heart failure in October and his sick heart has had some difficulty healing. He hasn’t been able to return to performing.
Teddy suffered heart failure after a Sensational Soul Cruisers performance in October. Pneumonia & sepsis led to severe heart failure, sending him home with his heart weakened to just 16%, a life vest & medications.
Teddy’s heart is having difficulty healing. It is doubtful Teddy will return to the SSC.
His Dr. has warned him of sudden cardiac death. This is a critical time for some major helping hands to rally! Heidi Vonglahn has set up a Go Fund Me page for medical emergency. Any amount, BIG or small will be appreciated.
Teddy’s wife, Tracey Barry, has been pounding the pavements and burnin’ up the phones with “a little help from her friends,” putting together a night to remember, A Night Of
Kindness. International recording artist, and true “soul man”, Carlton B. Smith, is set to perform in the line up!
Other performers to expect will be Motor City Revue & High in the Mid 80’s with MC Johnny Mac! Besides fantastic tunes, there will be a silent auction going on with some pretty darn nice gifts!
