Multiple Sclerosis AKA MS, a potentially disabling disease affecting the brain and spinal cord-the central nervous system. It is a long-lasting disease which can create issues with balance, vision, muscle control and other basic body functions. So far there are no known cures for MS although now some FDA approved meds have shown to reduce the number of relapses as well as delay progression to some degree. There are therapeutic and tech advances which have been seen to help manage symptoms.
Mary Menser, a wonderfully warm & friendly popular local gal whom I’m proud to call a friend, has organized “Team Mary Menser”. Mary herself is afflicted and knows full well the importance of the MS Walks. If you are a music buff and venture out to local venues, you may well run into Mary as she is well-known and pals with many in our local music scene! Arne Wendt (see his bio earlier this month) will be on hand walking once again walking for the cause with Mary!
“Team Mary Menser” Walk MS 2018!!

Teams: “Together we’ll go further”! Participating as a team with friends, family and co-workers makes Walk MS even more fun and memorable. The memories and experiences you’ll have with your team will last well beyond Walk MS. Teams 3 Ways: *Friends and Family Teams, just as it sounds-groups of people coming together to create a world free of MS! Often these teams walk in support of a loved one living with MS or coming together simply to support a great cause. *Corporate- Teams that are connected to a company and are traditionally made up of employees, friends and family members of employees. *National Teams- Teams that begin at a local level event, then go on to make an even bigger impact by supporting events across the country. For corp. teams, this is an opportunity to foster employee engagement and camaraderie; for Friends & Family teams, this program unites loved ones regardless of geographic location. Recruit! The more the merrier! Grab your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers…..pretty much anyone you know. And as Monk would say, “here’s the thing”: those who can’t join in person can join as a virtual walker and enjoy all the fun with none of the miles! There’s no limit on team size, so get out there and start recruiting!
