Old Fashioned Molasses Taffy

By Sharon Prudhomme ~

I happened by this recipe for molasses taffy on a Pennsylvania website. This is something so simple and yet so good and full of nostalgic memories! Give it a try. Great for Fall treats and gifts!

Ingredients:

1 Cup molasses – my favorite is Black Strap!

 1 Cup sugar

 1 Tablespoon white vinegar

 1 Tablespoon butter

Directions:

Recipe calls for a 12 cupcake pan, but the mini cupcake size would also work just fine.  The results are smaller tasty treats in greater number.      Spray pan with cooking spray. Add all ingredients in one pot-stir completely then bring to a hard boil, stirring constantly. When mixture becomes thick and fully incorporated, drop a small bit into a glass of water. If it falls into a tight ball, it is ready to fill into mini cupcake pan. Allow to cool-pop out and respray pan and repeat until your mix is used. If using large pan, makes aproximately 24 pieces-small pan makes aproximately 48 pieces.
