A Local Family Celebrates An 85 Year Legacy

It wasn’t your typical business celebration, more like a gathering of old friends, patients, families, and doctors coming to say, “Well done!” Assemblyman Ned Thomson, one of Dr. Tom’s loyal patients shared, “A handful of people built Southern Monmouth County and those families are still here supporting our area. The Campi Family is one of those great families!”
This year marks the celebration of All in the Family Dental Care, founded by Dr. John G. Campi on Cookman Ave in Asbury Park in 1933. This was the beginning of what has become the oldest, continuously family operated dental practice in New Jersey. In celebration, a reception was held but what ended up happening was a reunion of dedicated supporters and friends coming to commemorate the family’s long history of helping the community and treating each of their patients with dedication and care.

Bess Peterson of Bradley Beach has been a patient since 1942. “I started coming here when I was 18 and I’ve stayed to see four generations of this family work here!” Dr. Tom Campi was the second generation working at All in the Family Dental Care from 1973-2005. He was treated like a celebrity being greeted by his previous patients, and he was thrilled to see some of the people he cared for over the years. Happy for the reunion, their mutual admiration was clear.
Bill and Jeanne Haller of Wall started coming in 1976. Now they have 5 generations from their family that are patients, “My great-great grandson just came for his first visit!” Mrs. Haller shared. Even though the newest member of their family lives 45 min. away , “We all stay because we like to go where we feel comfortable and our family all loves it here.” Mrs. Haller, a retired school nurse,  used to ask Dr. Tom Campi to visit her schools to educate her students on oral health. That tradition continues with Dr. Jack and Dr. Joe educating students throughout the year on oral health as part of their Campi Cares program.
The entire staff of All in the Family Dental Care is extremely proud of their history and reputation as leaders in the dental field and community. Their mission is to provide excellence in dentistry with the highest level of service in an enjoyable environment for patients, staff and doctors.
