American Littoral Society Slade Dale Living Shoreline Building Volunteer Day
Location
Slade Dale Nature Preserve, Sea Point Drive, Point Pleasant, NJ
Sea Point Drive
Point Pleasant
Description
Lend a hand completing the branchbox breakwater begun in 2019 at Slade Dale Nature Preserve. Volunteers will help place recycled Christmas trees into the waters of Beaverdam Creek, where they will help reverse erosion that has been eating away at the shoreline.
Much of this work will require you to get in the water, so dress to get wet and messy. We do have a limited number of waders to loan out, but please bring your own if you have them. If you do not want to get in the water but are still interested in volunteering, there will be some strictly land-based tasks.
Parking is along Sea Point Drive, which borders the nature preserve.
